Exploring home care can bring up a lot of questions. Here you'll find answers about getting started, care options, scheduling, costs, and what to consider when choosing support for yourself or a loved one.

Getting Started with Home Care

Start with a free consultation. Call us or send us a message and tell us what's happening at home. We'll talk through your loved one's needs and what support could look like. There's no obligation to move forward.

For a step-by-step overview, see how getting started works.

Families often start exploring home care when everyday things become harder: bathing or dressing, getting to appointments, keeping up with the house, or spending long days alone. It can also help when a family caregiver needs a break, or when memory changes make daily routines harder to manage.

Every situation is different, and home care isn't the right fit for everyone. A conversation with us can help you think it through. For medical questions, your loved one's doctor is the best guide.

Yes. The first conversation is there to help you understand your options and ask questions. You can take the time you need to talk it over as a family, and there's no obligation to move forward.

Nothing formal is needed to start. It helps to think about what a typical day looks like for your loved one, which tasks have become harder, roughly when you'd like support, and any questions your family has. If you don't have all the answers yet, that's fine.

Services & Care Options

We provide non-medical, in-home support, including:

Many families use more than one of these, and the mix can change over time.

Yes. Before care starts, we talk through your loved one's routines, preferences and what's actually needed, and the plan is shaped around that instead of a fixed package.

We offer Alzheimer's and dementia care, with an emphasis on familiarity and consistency, and non-medical support during end-of-life and hospice care.

All of our care is non-medical and is meant to work alongside any medical care your loved one already receives. If you're not sure whether we can support a specific situation, please contact us and we'll talk it through.

Personalized Care & Caregivers

Our caregivers are chosen for good judgment and how they treat people. Once care is arranged, a caregiver is matched with your loved one and scheduled around your family, and consistency matters to us: ideally the same caregiver, visit after visit.

If you'd like to know more about how caregivers are selected, just ask. We're happy to explain.

Yes, and we encourage it. The first conversation usually starts there: how your loved one likes to spend the day, the habits and comforts that matter to them, and anything a caregiver should know to make them feel at ease.

Yes. Care can be revisited and adjusted as your loved one's situation changes. Get in touch and we'll talk through what's changed and what's possible.

Scheduling & Availability

It depends on the kind of support your loved one needs, the schedule that works for your family, and caregiver availability. We'll talk through timing during your first conversation, so you have a clear picture before deciding anything.

Care is scheduled around what works for your family. Available days and hours can vary, so the best next step is to contact us with the schedule you have in mind and we'll let you know what's possible.

We provide in-home care across the San Fernando Valley, including Sherman Oaks, Encino and Studio City. If you're nearby and not sure whether you're covered, ask us.

Costs & Payment

Cost depends on the type of support your loved one needs and how often care is provided. Because every plan is different, we'll go over pricing with you directly during your free consultation so you have accurate numbers before making any decisions.

Peaceful Home Care is a private-pay provider, which means care is generally paid for directly rather than billed to insurance.

Families with a long-term care insurance policy may be able to use it as a secondary payment option. Whether a policy applies depends on its terms, so it's best to check with your insurer. We're happy to answer questions about how payment works with us.

We offer the following payment options:

  1. Private Pay: care is paid for directly by you or your family.
  2. Long Term Care Insurance: a secondary option for families with a long-term care insurance policy. Coverage depends on the policy's terms, so it's best to check with your insurer.

Please contact us for current payment information. We'll walk you through how billing works before care begins.

Families & Ongoing Communication

Families are part of the conversation from the start. You can share questions, preferences and anything we should know, and once care begins we keep communication open so you know how things are going.

We also respect your loved one's privacy, so information is shared in line with their wishes and consent.

You can call us at [PHONE_NUMBER_GOES_HERE] or reach us through our contact page. Whether you're just exploring options or already receiving care, we're glad to help.

Let us know as soon as you notice a change, such as after a hospital stay, a fall, or a shift in memory or mobility. We'll talk it through with you and look at whether a different schedule or type of support could help, for example adding dementia care or respite care for a family caregiver.

If your loved one needs medical care, their healthcare team should be involved as well.
